Risks of staying as you are
Change is scary. Really scary. For many people, the fear of the unknown is greater than the pain of staying in the same place. I was here once. Unhappy with my life. Unhappy with my trajectory. Overweight. Depressed. Scared. Anxious.
I began to test the limits of the fear that existed in trying something differently. I was working a job in a cubicle. Stuck on a computer for 8 hours a day. I was seeing life go on around me, but I was unsure of how to make myself go along with it. One day I took the biggest, scariest leap I had ever imagined. I quit my job, moved across the country, and began working in a gym.
This change up felt trying at times. I was embarrassed by my decision when things did not work perfectly. I was depressed there too. I continued to gain weight. Now I was far away from home and everything I had known, and nothing seemed to change for the good.
Then, I found yoga! I went through a 9-month training to become a yoga instructor. This isn’t to advocate that you leave your job and family and become a yogi. Rather, this is to empower you to challenge yourself and find the new that you need.
Yoga taught me principles of self-love that I never before understood. I learned to see the world as a collective instead of me against the person next to me. I saw that there is a bigger way to flow through the universe than being disjointed and not connected with my true self. Finally, I was able to break out of the same destructive habits and mental patterns that had haunted me for decades.
I now share my love of yoga with individuals of all ages. I thrive in sharing these experiences and pushing people out of their comfort zones and into their truth. Isn’t it time that we gave up the pain, hurt, and self-destruction of the known and move into a place of truly living?
Let me help you.
